In Loving Memory of Leroy
Those of you who have lost a pet and have come through our doors, you know our love for animals, we hurt with our clients when they are going through these hard times. Today we carry the hurt.
Today with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our beloved Leroy. He may have been the runt, weighing only 8 or 9 pounds, but he had the spirit of a lion. When he ran through the house, you would swear he was 20 pounds. Leroy was special in every way. He had just four teeth left, but that didn’t stop him from grabbing a hold of the other cat's necks which was his only move he had when they were play fighting with his brothers and sisters. He loved nothing more than playing ball and chasing springs around, and he never once missed his 8:00PM treats. Leroy had a way of making every day a little brighter.
A few days ago, Leroy suffered from another pancreatitis attack and despite our best efforts, his condition declined rapidly. This morning, we had to make the difficult decision to take him to Kensington Veterinary Clinic, where the compassionate staff provided exceptional care. With their support, we made the heart-wrenching decision to peacefully let Leroy cross the Rainbow Bridge. He is now free from pain and at rest.
Leroy wasn’t just a pet; he was family. This little “Ginga Ninja” came from Newfoundland a few years ago with us, settled his roots in Prince Edward Island, and lived his best life in the country. He was our simple little guy, affectionately known as “Dad’s little dumb-dumb.” Every morning, Leroy woke up with the enthusiasm of a cat who'd forgotten he lived here his whole life—ready to rediscover the house all over again. If we could all wake up like Leroy, with a fresh sense of adventure, the world would be a better place.
He helped me through many hard times with his love and his hilarious antics. He might’ve been tiny, but his heart was huge—and we’re pretty sure he thought he was in charge of the whole house (and maybe he was right).
Rest in peace, sweet Leroy. We will miss you, but we’ll always smile when we think of our little ginger ball of chaos.
We love you buddy, forever and ever.
Eekee, Molly, Kika, Elvis, Nimbus and Dahila will miss you.
As a pet owner, you have the special responsibility of making aftercare choices on your pet's behalf. Working together with your veterinary clinic, we will gently guide you through the process of making cremation arrangements that are fitting for you and your pet.
